creative juices...

I've been trying to redesign my blog. Little by little and one idea at a time, it is slowly coming along. Thinking about what I want my blog to represent and portray to those who browse by or to convey and tell about my own life to those friends and family near and far, there just never seems to be the time to really make the ideas come together to completion.
But I love browsing the creative rooms in my mind and seeing what each has to offer. Some days it's more than others and when it becomes a necessity that usually seems to be when the drought comes. That also draws me to my second favorite thing about blogs; the creativeness and uniqueness of so many others that I read. I love browsing photography and design blogs where people actually get paid, so have the time, to really put the time and effort into bringing their creativeness to fruition. Sigh...

Yesterday my external hardrive took a turn for the worst. I have had it for 2 years, but it isn't even close to filling up the 500 GB of room on there. It holds every photoshoot and design project I have ever done. I have no idea why it decided to not upload yesterday, but it would not, so to the shop it will go. Praying for a complete recovery. The thought that I could lose all of my work and portfolio from the last two years stirs up a huge knot of nausea in the pit of my stomach. So I have chosen not to think about it, but simply do what I know I can do.

That is for sure one of my biggest frustrations in the photography/design world--having to be dependent on technology that is completely undependable! And I decided when I stepped out into this venture that I would not try to know everything. Their are people who are naturally gifted at IT support and computer questions that my mind just does not comprehend. I can, usually through a very long and frustrating process, figure many of my problems out, but by just getting that person, who is already really great at what I am not, we work together toward a common goal and I am saved time and frustration.

So if you've happened along this blog, or if you're a long time friend or family member, and are wondering why it's called 'racheljenae photography' but never see photography... well all I can tell you is that our lives are a work in progress and dreams and desires rarely happen in our own timing...so this is my life and dreams in that progress.

Happy Tuesday! Leaves are falling, the air outside is a crispy coolness and a hot latte or apple cider taste that much better! Thank you Lord for the fall and a change of seasons!
